about

WARNING: This is not breaks. This is not techno. If you are hyper-sensitive to distortion, run.

"Y'know that ringing in your ears? That's the sound of your ear cells dying. Once it's gone you'll never hear that frequency again. Enjoy it while it lasts."

Dan F's 2007 album 'Rendition' was a one-off slingshot through the orbit of industrial and quickly back out the other side.

After several years of producing breakbeat and techno 'Rendition' was created in response to, what Dan felt at the time was, a lack of meaning in club music.'Rendition' was a creative outlet for his frustration at the increasing encroachment of the state on individual liberty. The album was an escape valve (although here we are in 2021 and things have not really improved!)

From growling bass to relentless high frequency distortion, this album is not meant to be a pleasant listening experience. Fleeting rays of hope appear in the form of 'Where Are You' and 'Must Get Low' but not so much during the rest.

Mostly instrumental, collaboration comes in the form of vocal performances by the extremely talented NYC artist & rapper Bisc1, Australia's Q (Quan Yeomans) of legendary rock band Regurgitator, and a remix by UK tech-funk godfather Elite Force.

Originally released on CD 'Rendition' is re-issued here on Bandcamp (08/2021) – in it's original mastered state – as part of the canon.
